The work of Belgian artist and photographer Geert Goiris straddles a liminal position between landscape and still life. Haunting and dreamlike, the sometimes alien images denote a fundamental tension between man and nature often bordering on the sublime. From seemingly composed scenes of various objects or portraits to architectural and natural landscapes, the images impart a sense of uncanny timing or discerning observation, achieving both qualities of suspended time and unspoken narrative. Included is 'Myths, Places and Protagonists', a collection of short texts by Goiris offering personal insight into how a number of the images came to be created or inspired. 0Exhibition: M-Museum, Leuven, Belgium (14.2.-19.5.2013).

Pieter Vermeersch (Belgium, 1973) is well-known for his gradual wall paintings that create powerful visual experiences. Vermeersch combines painting with architecture and works on a variety of surfaces such as canvas, marble and photographs. Beyond the traditional borders of the canvas, his investigations result in large-scale spatial interventions that manipulate the space. Time, colour and space are the building blocks of his oeuvre: these concepts lie at the foundation of his gradual murals and architectural interventions. 17 Signatures presents a complete survey of Vermeersch's work, from the beginning of his career until his recent solo exhibition at Museum M Leuven, and includes a broad selection of painted works (canvases, stones, photographs, walls), installations and sketches. The book is organized by theme and is beautifully designed by the Dutch design studio Mevis & Van Deursen. Published on the occasion of a major solo exhibition of Thomas Demand's work at Belgium Museum M Leuven in October 2020, this book focuses on Demand's relationship to architecture and his engagement with architects over almost fifteen years. The starting point is his ongoing series "Model Studies", in which the concept of the model itself is key, and includes rarely shown projects such as 'Black Label' (2009), 'Embassy' (2007), and 'Nagelhaus' (2008). The book is accompanied by essays from Adam Caruso (Architect and Professor of Architecture and Construction at the ETH Zurich), Maristella Casciato (Curator of Architecture, Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles) and Emily Pugh (Architectural historian, Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles), Aude-Line Dulière (Architect and Professor at the Architectural Association, London), Karen Van Godtsenhoven (Associate curator at the Fashion Institute, Metropolitan Museum, New York), and Valerie Verhack (Curator at M Leuven). With contributions by Arno Brandlhuber and Rirkrit Tiravanija.
